Long but good articles. Read them if you have the time to spare.
Someone commented: "Anyone but Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge) please! He will go overboard with the sparkle!"

SUMMIT BEGINS SEARCH FOR NEW MOON DIRECTOR

Los Angeles , CA , December 7, 2008 – Summit Entertainment and director Catherine Hardwicke jointly announced today that the filmmaker will not be directing the next installment in the newly minted TWILIGHT film franchise. Summit ’s targeted end of 2009 or early 2010 release of the film, NEW MOON, does not work with Ms. Hardwicke’s required prep time to bring her vision of the film to the big screen. Thus as has been done before with many
successful film franchises, the studio will employ a new director for NEW MOON.

"I am sorry that due to timing I will not have the opportunity to direct NEW MOON,” said Hardwicke. “Directing TWILIGHT has been one of the great experiences of my life, and I am grateful to the fans for their passionate support of the film. I wish everyone at Summit the best with the sequel-- it is a great story."

“Catherine did an incredible job in helping us to launch the TWILIGHT franchise and we thank her for all of her efforts and we very much hope to work with her on future Summit projects,” said Erik Feig, Summit ’s President of Production. “We as a studio have a mandate to bring the next installment in the franchise to the big screen in a timely fashion so that fans can get more of Edward, Bella and all of the characters that Stephenie Meyer has created. We are able to pursue an aggressive time frame as we have the luxury of only adapting the novels into screenplays as opposed to having to create a storyline from scratch.”

WTF? Summit is making like Warner Brothers and pulling a Harry Potter on us!
Catherine may be batshit crazy, but she understands the teenage psyche and gets Bella and Edward's relationship. True, there were a lot of things she could have improved on in the first film -- like the unnecessary close-ups and bad editing -- but given the limited budget, we think Catherine did a good job. We are going to miss her, really.

The only thing we can do now is hope that whoever they get to direct New Moon will be just as passionate and committed as Catherine is, if not more. We're banking on Sofia Coppola. New Moon is very dark and angst-driven, and we think Sofia is fully capable of translating that on screen. Um hello, Virgin Suicides anyone?

Let's save Alfonso Cuaron for Breaking Dawn. ;)

Wanna hear the cast drop the F-bomb and Rob say "sex" multiple times? Oh what the heck, why are we even asking? We know you do.

Taylor is so innocent, bless him.

Remember that horrific, over-photoshopped EW cover back in July where they managed to make the otherwise dazzling and scorchingly handsome Robert Pattinson look ghoulish, and dare we say, gay? Here, allow us to refresh your memories:

The cover earned EW a lot of flak and outrage from the fans, and since then, the entertainment news provider has been trying to win the fans' trust back. Well, it looks like EW has finally redeemed itself by releasing a three-cover issue of Robert and Kristen!

Well done, EW. That is one luscious picture of Rob -- very brooding, very tormented, very Edward.
And the photos inside are as equally stunning. The two are barely touching, but the chemistry and sexual tension is off the roof. Haha.
The article is nothing short of refreshing -- Kristen and Robert are blunt out honest.
''We had to rewrite and improvise a lot of the most intense scenes, because Kristen will not say something if she doesn't feel good about it,'' recalls Hardwicke. ''Kristen is very tough and she does not tolerate bullshit.'' Stewart just feels like she was doing her job. ''I had some of the corniest lines I've ever had in this film,'' says the actress, who was keen to tone down some of the over-the-top declarations of ''I will die for you!'' love. ''We were so awkward saying those lines. Catherine was like, 'Just feel it and say what comes to you.''
Kristen's such a badass and we love it! We agree, there are a lot of cheesy lines in the book, and we're glad they toned them down. :)

P.S. Can anyone tell us the color of Rob's eyes? It looks a bit bluish-gray at times, but we're not entirely sure.

Sembreak's given us some free time on our hands, which is why we've been updating a lot recently.
If you're an avid reader of other Twilight fan sites, you would know that Rob went to Mexico and Kristen to Spain to promote Twilight.
The two are currently reunited in Italy, along with Catherine Hardwicke. Ciao Bella!
They have some cute pictures of their photo call here.

UK magazine Empire has a feature on the Twilight cast. The shots are pretty cool, and Rob is looking mighty fine. There's even an adorable one of him & Kris together. See them here on Empire's official website. Here is a video of their outtakes:

This is inarguably their best shoot yet. Rob and Kris look ridiculously hot. We are totally coveting Kris' hair color, by the way.

MTV: The last question is a big one: When Edward and Bella kiss, is it a French kiss? Many of the fans feel that there needs to be tongue action.

Hardwicke: I agree! Everybody needs tongue action, believe me. And we put no restrictions on the actors; I did not have a camera inside their mouth, but I would believe there was a little tongue action from the passionate way they've kissed. But maybe we should put a little camera, a little lipstick camera, into their mouths. That would be a good idea.

Count on Hardwicke to keep teasing us. We can barely wait for November 20 as it is.

From EW.com:

Twilight Reshoots: Why is Catherine Hardwicke shooting again?

While reshoots often hint that there may be a problem with a movie, that doesn't appear to be the case with Twilight, whose initial 44-day Oregon production faced multiple weather-related difficulties.

One redone scene shows Edward playing Bella's lullaby. During the movie's initial shoot, Pattinson performed the scene while improvising with his own music; now he's playing the actual song, which has been written by veteran film composer Carter Burwell. [Rob Pattinson's music will still appear in Twilight. According to director Catherine Hardwicke, two of Pattinson's songs that he wrote before Twilight started filming are going to be featured in the movie. In fact, they recorded them this month.] "Pattinson is a great pianist, long vampire fingers," Hardwicke says. And if that doesn't whet your appetite, Hardwicke also reshot the bedroom kissing scene...and shot a few new scenes: more of Jacob, more on the Cullens' backstory, and more footage in the meadow. Says the director, "It's all just icing on the cake."

Kristen Stewart gets to kiss Robert Pattinson again?! Can life get any more unfair?
