Chris Weitz Will Direct Twilight Sequel

Weitz is best-known for his work with his brother Paul. The two directed and produced American Pie and then were nominated for an Academy Award for best screenplay for About a Boy, which they also co-directed. Chris' first solo directing gig, The Golden Compass, didn't do well stateside but was a hit internationally.

From the looks of it, this man knows a thing or two about adapting movies based on novels. He's also had experience with killer special effects. And American Pie? He knows a lot about raging teenage hormones! Woot woot! Haha!

All in all, not bad. We're interested to see his take on New Moon.

Taylor Lautner not starring in 'New Moon'

The role of Jacob is now up for grabs as Taylor Lautner will not be reprising it in the sequel. Summit Entertainment deemed him too young-looking and slight of frame to play the maturing werewolf.

This came from a gossip site who couldn't even get their facts right. They wrote Kristen Bell instead of Kristen Stewart. So we can't exactly say this is a reliable source. Nevertheless, we would feel sad if they replaced Taylor. Cause he was really growing on us, you know? Even if we constantly made fun of his long black (sometimes permed) wig in the movie, we were starting to like him.
