EW: Why did you demand that Edward and Bella's big kissing scene be toned down?
STEPHENIE MEYER:
The problem is if you're going to continue with the other movies, there's a very gradual build to their physical relationship. And what Edward is capable of when he first meets Bella changes very much by the time he's become more committed to the relationship. They reshot the first kiss scene and actually added a special effect and some really cool things that added so much. And it's the only kiss scene.

Special effects? Did they digitally cover Kristen's panties? Geez SM, live a little. It's bad enough that there's only one kissing scene, and then it had to be toned down? Twilight is not High School Musical 3. After reading through the comments, we saw that many shared our disappointment. This comment for the win:
Catherine needs to step up and be like - "Bitch please. You might have written the books, but I am directing the movie. This is SPARTA! *kicks her into black pit of doom."

Hahaha.

Remember that horrific, over-photoshopped EW cover back in July where they managed to make the otherwise dazzling and scorchingly handsome Robert Pattinson look ghoulish, and dare we say, gay? Here, allow us to refresh your memories:

The cover earned EW a lot of flak and outrage from the fans, and since then, the entertainment news provider has been trying to win the fans' trust back. Well, it looks like EW has finally redeemed itself by releasing a three-cover issue of Robert and Kristen!

Well done, EW. That is one luscious picture of Rob -- very brooding, very tormented, very Edward.
And the photos inside are as equally stunning. The two are barely touching, but the chemistry and sexual tension is off the roof. Haha.
The article is nothing short of refreshing -- Kristen and Robert are blunt out honest.
''We had to rewrite and improvise a lot of the most intense scenes, because Kristen will not say something if she doesn't feel good about it,'' recalls Hardwicke. ''Kristen is very tough and she does not tolerate bullshit.'' Stewart just feels like she was doing her job. ''I had some of the corniest lines I've ever had in this film,'' says the actress, who was keen to tone down some of the over-the-top declarations of ''I will die for you!'' love. ''We were so awkward saying those lines. Catherine was like, 'Just feel it and say what comes to you.''
Kristen's such a badass and we love it! We agree, there are a lot of cheesy lines in the book, and we're glad they toned them down. :)

P.S. Can anyone tell us the color of Rob's eyes? It looks a bit bluish-gray at times, but we're not entirely sure.

Remember that Entertainment Weekly cover we posted a few weeks back? If you don't, let this refresh your memory:

Yeah, well the cover has landed on LA Times "Top 10 Magazine Covers that Shook the World".

'Twilight' vampire not hot-blooded enough

When author Stephenie Meyer wrote that “Twilight” hero Edward, the 17-going-on-108-year-old vampire, is supposed to be dazzlingly, blindingly beautiful, we’re pretty sure she didn’t mean in a rosy-lipped female kind of way. Pity then poor Robert Pattison, an actor whose one only claim to fame thus far is his small role as Harry Potter rival Cedric Diggory in “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.” The backlash was immediate. Once MTV.com posted an early preview of the cover, the site attracted hundreds of comments including this one from a poster identified as “Horrified”: "Edward looks like a ZOMBIE. The stylists and photographer obviously had no idea who the characters are…he looks like a hairy, powdered donut."

Heck, negative publicity is still publicity. And besides, you know you've made it big when the publicity you create is ranked along the likes of a totally naked John Lennon and Yoko Ono, and of Kanye West pulling a Jesus Christ -- some of the other controversial covers that landed on the list.

It's official, there's no stopping the Twilight mania. It's set to conquer the world, one fanpire at a time.

The cover is just screaming "PHOTOSHOPPED".

Robert looks odd here. Too pasty, too gay. They probably should have shaved his chest. And exposed some abs. Heehee. Question though: Why is his belt buckle on the side? Is this a new fashion statement that we don't know about?

Kristen looks gorgeous here, but she's radiating Snow White rather than Bella. What's with the uber-black hair, bloody red lipstick, and the low-cut dress (um, cleavage much?)?

Your thoughts?
