theme fail
gwen stefani
I'm pissed cause I changed my LJ theme and it didn't turn out as how I wanted it to be and I didn't save the codes of my former theme so now I'm stuck with the current layout and it's making me lazy to update.

*sigh* Why can't my LJ look like my tumblr instead?

If anyone can recommend a minimalist theme for LJ, I'd really appreciate it. Danke!

I just want to rave about this book I read recently.

The book is told from the POV of a dog, Enzo, who is the story's heart and soul.
Trust me when I say that you don't have to be a dog lover to like this book.
Enzo makes for a very interesting and insightful storyteller; you will find it impossible not to love him.
It's a sad book, but it has its delightful moments, and you will come out at the end of it with a smile on your face and a small tug on your heart. :)

(Sorry for the sappy review.)

Remember my last post? Well, pretend it never happened. lol

To be clear, I quit law school. I lasted about 3 weeks before I realized I just couldn't go on anymore. And it wasn't just because of the truckload of assignments and the grueling recitations the day after... I also wasn't happy. I thought I'd enjoy the challenge; I was sorely mistaken.

I have no regrets though. I gained experience and I gained friends. And though I may never have the title 'Atty' attached to my name, I'm okay. I'll live. :)

bye... for now

Going on an indefinite hiatus as I've enrolled myself in law school this academic year.

Corporate slave by day, law student by night. Which leaves no time for blogging trivial matters about my life.
I will be logging in every now and then to read your blogs and maybe even comment occasionally.

Wish me luck! (Because I will need it.)

Love lots,

My summer jam. Hitting it old school.

The heat wave has me obsessed with anything ice-cold. Ice cream, frozen yogurt, and lemonade are a staple in my meals right now.

The iPhone 4 in WHITE? Steve Jobs knows what iWant.

Kinda just living in my cutoffs right now. Did I mention I feel like I'm living in an oven right now?

Maybe I should schedule all my posts like this, aka, practically just a summary of the posts I reblog in Tumblr. So yeah, none of photos above are mine.

I watched Sucker Punch and I liked it.

I know, I'm like two weeks late. But better late than never, right? Can ya blame a girl for being busy? :p

I didn't know what to expect cause it had gotten really mixed reviews. All I knew was that Zack Snyder had directed it -- and since I loved 300 and thought Watchmen was okay -- I knew I had to give Sucker Punch a chance.

And it didn't disappoint. Sure, the plot wasn't that ~deep. But I didn't find it shallow either. To stretch it a bit, it reminds me of Inception with its blending of reality and layerful of fantasies. Also, I dig any movie that shows that GIRLS CAN KICK ASS. Sucker Punch is kinda like Kill Bill meets Deathproof, if I may.

As expected with any Zack Snyder movie, the visuals were amazing; I am such a sucker for eye candy. Soundtrack was fuckawesome too. But what really blew me away? THE COSTUMES. OMG I LOVED EVERY OUTFIT, AND EVEN THOUGH IT'S STILL FIVE MONTHS AWAY, I ALREADY KNOW THAT I WANT TO DRESS UP AS BABY DOLL OR HALLOWEEN. lol
I think I see the appeal in cosplay now. Hmm...

The only thing I was rather disappointed with were the so-so stunts and action scenes. I was like, Zack Snyder, dude, you could have done better. Then again, I don't think the people really mind that kind of thing when all the stars are hot chicks. Seriously, three-quarters of the crowd I watched with were BOYS.

All in all, I guess it's really a you-either-hate-it-or-you-love-it kind of movie. You know you like a movie when as soon as it ends, you want to watch it all over again.

Spring Roughening
Got a lovely compliment from a co-worker today that I "dress well and have great taste in bags and shoes".
I was flattered cause I thought SHE had a pretty cool style as well.

I'm so excited for this summer! I'm going to make the most out of it. Hope you guys do too. :)

 YES or NO?

Halp me.

83rd academy awards
gwen stefani
I'm trying to watch all the Oscar-nominated films before the actual show so I can give my unbiased vote.
So far, I've only seen half of the list:

127 Hours
Black Swan
The Social Network
Toy Story 3

Which leaves me with:

The Kids Are All Right
The Fighter
The King's Speech
True Grit
Winter's Bones

Although Inception is still pretty much my favorite, I just know the chances of it winning Best Motion Picture are small to nil. I'm betting on either TSN or The King's Speech to bring home the little man.
